Gourmet Burgers


  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 large white onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tsp chopped fresh rosemary leaves
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tomatoes, cut into slices
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/3 cup Blue Banner Sliced Red Onions
  • ½ cup roundly sliced cucumber
  • Lettuce, to serve
  • 4 rolls, cut in the middle


  1. Combine mince, onion, garlic, rosemary and vinegar in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Divide mixture into 4 equal portions. Shape into 1cm-thick patties. Place on a plate and cover. Refrigerate for 1 hour to allow flavours to develop.
  2. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Cook patties for 4 to 5 minutes each side or until browned and just cooked through. Stand for 5 minutes. (alternatively use BBQ to cook burger patties)
  3. Place lettuce, tomato slices and a burger patty on each roll. Serve topped with cucumbers and Blue Banner Sliced Red Onions to perfect the taste.
